Inflatable party tent or marquee: which suits your event?
Planning a dance floor, a sit-down meal or a little of both? Choose the tent around what your guests will be doing and what needs to fit inside.
When to choose an inflatable nightclub
An inflatable nightclub gives a backyard party a dedicated place for music and dancing. Add sound and party lights, or hire the structure for your own equipment. It works as the dance space while you arrange food and seating around it.
Our black nightclub measures approximately 10 × 6 metres and accommodates around 50–75 guests, depending on the layout and equipment inside. You will also need clear space around it for access, anchoring and equipment.
When to consider a traditional marquee
For a seated meal or reception, a traditional marquee may be a better starting point. Ask a marquee supplier for a layout that fits your tables, chairs and any dance floor, and check whether you need flooring.
Swipe the table sideways to compare both options →
| Decision | Inflatable nightclub | Traditional marquee |
|---|---|---|
| Main activity | Music and dancing | Dining, receptions or shelter |
| Layout | Allow room for guests and entertainment equipment | Request a floor plan with tables and chairs |
| Power | Power for the blower, sound and lighting | Check power needs for lighting and other equipment |
| Ground | We check the surface and anchoring for your site | Ask what ground and installation access are needed |
| Quote | Check the structure, sound, lighting and delivery | Check the structure, flooring, furniture and delivery |
Check the site before choosing the package
Measure your space and take a few photos of the ground, access and power outlets. Tell your supplier about slopes, narrow gates, stairs and venue rules so they can check what is needed to set up safely.
An inflatable nightclub needs power for its blower, as well as any sound and lighting. Our nightclub setup checklist covers the measurements and photos that will help us check your space.
Compare the final event price
Our nightclub speaker and lighting package starts from $650 AUD. Delivery and any extras are quoted for your location, hire period and setup. A DJ is optional, and food, furniture and decorations are separate unless listed in your quote.
When comparing quotes, check what equipment is included, how long you can hire it for, and the cost of delivery and collection. See our starting hire prices and nightclub hire terms.

The space Cove’s nightclub actually needs
The tent footprint and the clear setup area are different measurements. Use both when deciding what fits your backyard.
- Tent footprint
- 10 × 6 m
- Flat setup area
- At least 11 × 7 m
- Clear height
- 5 m

Is an inflatable nightclub the same as an inflatable party tent?
People use both names for dance-party setups. Cove’s inflatable party tent is the black 10 × 6 metre nightclub shown here. Structure-only hire starts from $550 AUD; the speaker and lighting package starts from $650 AUD, with delivery quoted separately. Check the actual equipment and layout when comparing another supplier’s party tent.

What if my space is exactly 10 × 6 metres?
That only matches the tent footprint. Cove needs at least 11 × 7 metres of flat setup space and 5 metres of clear height, with access and anchoring assessed for your site. Do not book on footprint alone.
Use the setup checklist and dimension checker, then send your date and suburb. We can discuss measurements, photos and venue requirements before confirming the booking.
