Your gender reveal planning checklist

Planning a gender reveal? Use this checklist to organise the space, timing and surprise before booking your setup. We cover the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Gold Coast and surrounding South East Queensland areas.

Choose the venue before the effect

Choose where the reveal will happen and check what the venue allows. Send us wide photos of the space and let us know what the ground or floor is like, whether it is a backyard, hired hall or public outdoor area.

Let us know if you prefer powder or confetti. We will check which setup suits the venue and conditions. Planning an indoor reveal? Discuss it with us first, as outdoor equipment may not be suitable.

Agree how the colour stays a surprise

If you want to find out with your guests, nominate someone you trust to send us the colour privately. We will agree when it is needed and how to receive it. Keep it out of shared planning messages and decorations until the reveal.

Choose any styling you would like

Send a reference image if you would like a backdrop, balloons or personalised details. We can help source these separately, and your quote will list the equipment, styling and any extras included.

Plan the countdown with your photographer

Tell us when guests will arrive and when you would like the countdown. Allow time to get everyone in place with a clear camera view. If you have a photographer or videographer, share the plan with them too.

Confirm access, power and cleanup

Let us know when we can set up, how we will reach the space and whether there are stairs or narrow gates. Include available power and the venue's rules for effects and cleanup. We will also need to agree on surface protection, packdown and collection.

Discuss the weather plan before booking

Ask what happens if the weather changes and whether the location, effect or timing would need to change. Read the gender reveal hire terms with your quote, and check any backup location with us before the day.
